Smoke Fire Pottery. 

Smoke firing is done in a garbage can or in a pit. I use sawdust, wood, salts, oxides, plants, flowers and manure. The pots are burnished in 4 different stages to make a smooth surface for the fire and additives to smoke color to.  they can fire for up to 10 hours. When finished the vessels are then polished with paste wax. There is no glaze on these vessels, the colour is from the fire and additives. The smoke fired work is not food or water safe.
